Author Guidelines
Authors should comply with the formatting guidelines provided below.
- Scholarly articles are welcome on any subject within the scope of the Journal.
- Manuscripts must be written in English. Both American and British English are accepted; one has to be consistent in their use.
- All submissions must be linguistically sound, making use of clearly formulated academic language without grammatical and spelling errors.
- JASAB recommends the use of gender-inclusive language.
- Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts that have been previously published or are currently being considered elsewhere will not be considered for editorial review.
- Manuscripts should be between 6000 and 8000 words and structured as follows: Title, Abstract, Introduction, Main body with subdivisions and Conclusion.
- The title must be concise, non-ambiguous.
- The abstract must be non-structured and be between 150 and 200 words. The abstract must place the problem in context, justify the need for the research, the methodology (express the basic design of the study, and name or briefly describe the methods used without going into excessive detail), state the key finding and the contribution the study makes to academia or the knowledge gap the study addresses, key conclusion and any key implications or recommendations. Do not cite references and do not use abbreviations excessively in the abstract.
- Include 4-5 keywords in your submission.
- The “Conclusion” must summarize the results and their meaning or significance in relation to each objective of the study.
- The font should be in Times New Romans, 12-point font and 1.5 line spacing.
- In order to maintain the integrity of the anonymous peer review process, authors are kindly requested to refrain from including self-identifying information within the manuscript.
- The submission file should be in Microsoft Word format.
- Both APA (7th edition) and Chicago (17th edition) reference systems are accepted, but must be applied consistently within a single article. Discursive footnotes should be kept to a minimum.
- For the purpose of blind reviews, only authors should not include their names in the title page of the manuscript. A separate file should be added to provide name(s) of author(s), institution of affiliation, and academic rank (eg. Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Professor etc).
- Review articles should be between 800 and 1000 words.
- Tables and figures/illustration should be inserted at the exact positions where they belong in the body of the paper.
- A bibliography must be provided at the end of all articles and contain only the sources referred to in the article. Where available, URLs for the references must be provided.
- Manuscripts must normally be submitted at least six months before the date of publication; that is, 31st May for the November issue and 30th November for the May issue.
- All manuscripts should be sent at an attachment to jasab@csuc.edu.gh
